Operating Room Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operating Room Manager to oversee the daily operations of our surgical suite. The ideal candidate will ensure high standards of patient care, manage staff performance and facilitate effective communication among surgical teams. This role is critical in maintaining a safe and efficient environment for both patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Oversight: Manage daily activities of the operating room, ensuring efficient scheduling and utilization of resources.
• Staff Management: Supervise, mentor and evaluate nursing and support staff; promote professional development and training opportunities.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate surgical procedures and optimize patient outcomes.
• Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the operating room budget; identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality care.
• Patient Safety: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices; investigate and resolve any issues or incidents.
• Technology Integration: Stay current with advancements in surgical technology and practices; facilitate the adoption of new tools and procedures as appropriate.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.

• Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.

• Three years of experience as a Leader in designated area required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred upon hire and required within 90 days of hire. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five or more years of experience as a Leader in designated area preferred.

• Recent experience and/or certifications in specialty preferred.

• Master of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
